Applied the Vinyl overlay to the control panel. Even after priming and painting (which I don't have a pick of, I put one layer of black latex semigloss on the CP) it didn't stick at all, so I had to get some 3M adhesive, make a mess, create a ton of air bubbles. Overall, this part came out worse than anything else on the cab. Still looks great as you can see, but it's not perfect... 08/06/04

Pie cut the button holes, then found out that it made the CPO bubble up when I did it like this, so I had to cut out all the pie pieces. Over 150 pie pieces to cut out carefully with a razor blade. Oh. Joy.

Here's a quick pick of the mess of wires I made on my mock cardboard control panel, after I removed the buttons, but before I removed all the wires.

Buttons attached, lines drawn for the base to sit on.

Painted the area that would be overhanging, Installed the Piano hing on the front after pre-drilling on both parts of the control panel. Cut out the hole for the trackball, and installed the trackball

Here's the wiring - All cable-tied and pretty.

The rest of the wiring to the Ipac and Optipac that I mounted in the bottom of the control panel. I also installed the double-jacob chains to the side so all of the pressure wouldn't be on the piano hinge when it opens right after I took this picture. Not much to see, but I'll pic it sometime. That's my personal PC to the side in the bottom picture, not my mame PC, heh.
